Please register for fall classes by mail. Forms must be accompanied by your registration fee, COVID waiver, and first month’s tuition. Checks should be made payable “Jan’s School of Dance” and mailed to:

Class Schedule
Pre-Comp Clog: Wednesdays – 6:15 – 7:00 pm
Pre-Comp Jazz: Thursdays – 4:45-5:30 pm
Vacation Schedule
Thanksgiving: No classes Wed., Nov. 23 through Sat. Nov. 26. Classes resume Mon., Nov. 28th.
Holiday: No classes Mon., December 19 through Sat., December 31. Classes resume Mon., January 2nd.
Spring Break: No classes Mon., March 13 through Sat., March 18. Classes resume Mon., March 20th.
Last Week of Classes: Mon., May 22 through Sat., May 27
Important Dates
Costume Measuring: During your class time the week of October 3rd -8th.
Tentative Holiday Show & Nutcracker: December 16th
Tentative Competition Boot-Camp: Feb. 3rd & 4th
Tentative Revue: June 3rd & 4th
Dropped Classes and Refunds
If you intend to drop a class or quit, you must send WRITTEN NOTIFICATION to Jan. If you do not send a notice, you will be billed for classes until this notification is received. Calling, leaving a message, or not attending class is not sufficient.
NO REFUNDS ARE GIVEN AFTER THE FIRST CLASS. IF A CLASS IS MISSED, IT CAN BE MADE UP BY ATTENDING A SIMILAR CLASS, BUT NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS FOR A LATER CLASS WILL BE GIVEN.
Communication
We communicate all registration forms, newsletters, and handouts via email. Please add jansschoolofdancemn@gmail.com to your safe senders list and check your spam folder for messages. If you are not receiving emails, contact the studio. It is your responsibility to keep up on extra practices and information. Payment Schedule
Payments are due on the first week of each month. Your class tuition is broken into 9 equal payments. If you are paying by check, note the student name and line on the check.

Costumes
Costume down payments will be $75 per costume per dancer with the first payment due October 1st. If you are in more than one routine, you may pay the $75 in installments, but all down payments must be received by December 1st. The cost per costume averages between $110-$240 for beginning lines and $125-$300 for intermediate and advanced lines. A second down payment of $25 per costume is due March 1st and the final balance is due in April.
Competition Line costumes are ordered October 1. No refunds will be given if you drop after Oct. 1st.
Entry Fees
Competition Entry Fees average $50-$70 per routine/competition. These fees include 4 regional competitions as well as Nationals entry fees and rehearsal fees. We have broken the entry fees into 3 installments. The first payment of $150 per routine per dancer is due with your November tuition. You may pay in installments, but all down payments must be received by Dec. 1st. The 2nd installment of $100 per routine is due with your February tuition. You will be entered in all competitions regardless of whether you attend. The amount of the third installment will be finalized later. Nationals are for everyone on a line. National dates are June 15-19, 2022, in the Wisconsin Dells.
Dance Attire and Dress
Dancers should wear tight fitting clothing. Leotards and tights are always recommended for ballet classes. You can wear a skirt or biker shorts over. For all other classes you must have a tight fitting tank top and either leggings or biker shorts/athletic shorts. We again will be selling dancewear etc. at the Dance studio. Hair should be pulled back in a bun or ponytail.
Shoes
Dancer’s feet for clogging shoes must be sized by Oct. 1st; the sample sizers must be returned to the manufacturer. You may also look for shoes in the Used Shoe Book at the front desk.
