JSOD Recreational Programs

Full Season Session

Our 9 month program runs September through May and concludes with our Annual Recital in June. New students are accepted into these classes through February each year pending availability.  We also have a summer program.

Vacation Schedule

MEA: No Classes Wednesday, Thursday & Friday October 15th-17th
Halloween: Thursday, October 31st
Thanksgiving:  No classes Thursday November 27th through Sun. Nov. 30th. Classes resume December 1st.
Christmas:  No classes Monday December 22nd- through Sun. January 3rd.  Classes resume Monday, January 5th.
Spring Break: No classes Mon., March 16th through Sun. March 22nd.  Classes resume Mon., March 23rd.

Important Dates

Halloween Shows: In-class performances October 24th-October 30th.
Christmas Show & Nutcracker: December 12th
Last Week of Classes:  Mon., May 18th-22nd
Tentative Dress Rehearsal: May 29th
Tentative Spring Revue: May 30th-31stto dance! Our All Abilities class is designed to move our bodies, engage with fun music, and have a good time.

Inclement Weather/Unforeseen Circumstances

In the event of weather or circumstances beyond our control and a studio closing is required, we will send an email by 1pm. There are no refunds or makeup classes for studio closing due to weather conditions and/or circumstances beyond our control.

Tuition Fees:

Tuition and fees are due on the first of each month. There will be a $15 late fee for tuition not received before the 5th of each month. All of our families will have an account set up in our family portal. You will be able to log in at any time and see your account history. You will be able to self-pay in this portal as well as set up recurring payments.

Cancellation Policy

If at any time you find the need to withdraw your dancer/s from their class/es, please contact the studio immediately with written notice. You may send an email to Jansschoolofdancemn@gmail.com or drop off written notice. There is a 30 day cancellation policy unless notified by 1st of the month.

Dance Attire

Dancers should wear clothing that is comfortable and allows for full range of motion. Examples include: leotards, athletic tank tops, dance or yoga pants, dance shorts. Please make sure your dancer has a dance bag to put their shoes in. Please label your child’s belongings with their first and last name.

Shoe Information    

Toddler Dance Combo: Black tap shoes and any color ballet shoes

Preschool Dance Combo: Black tap shoes and any color ballet shoes
K-1st and K-2nd Clog-Tap/Jazz/Ballet and Clog-Tap/Jazz/Tumbling: Black tap shoes and any color ballet shoes
K-1st and 2nd – 4th Kick/Jazz/Hip Hop: Paul Wright ½ ballet #250 (nude) and clean tennis shoes
Junior/Teen Dance Combo: Paul Wright ½ ballet #250 (nude) & clean tennis shoes for hip hop

Recital Costumes

If you are enrolling in a combination class (example: Tap/Ballet/Jazz), one style of dance will be performed at the Holiday Show and a different style at the Spring Revue. The Holiday Show costumes are borrowed from the studio. You will need to purchase the costume for the Spring Revue. (average cost for recreation class costume is $60-$70)
